Abstract: Establishes the duration of economic hardship licenses, when related to state tax
delinquency, issued by the Department of Public Safety and Corrections, office of motor
vehicles, as a period of two years or until such time as the individual has paid or made
payment arrangements.
Present law prohibits the Dept. of Public Safety and Corrections, office of motor vehicles from
issuing an economic hardship license to a person whose driver's license is suspended and has not
been renewed because of delinquent state taxes.
Proposed law modifies present law by requiring the Dept. of Public Safety and Corrections, office
of motor vehicles to issue an economic hardship license to a person whose driver's license is
suspended and has not been renewed because of delinquent state taxes. Specifies that the economic
