ACT 426 (HB 135) 2016 Regular Session Terry Landry
New law requires the Dept. of Health and Hospitals and the office of elderly affairs to report
to the La. Supreme Court any information in its possession concerning any adult which may
be prohibited from possessing a firearm. The information includes the name and other
identifying information and shall be provided upon request of the court and in a reasonable
time period.
Provides that new law does not violate any existing law provisions regarding client
confidentiality.
Effective August 1, 2016.
