CRIMINAL/PROCEDURE:  Adds ex officio members to the council of the Louisiana State
Law Institute
1	AN ACT
2To enact R.S. 24:202(A)(24), (25), and (26), relative to the council of the Louisiana State
3 Law Institute; to provide for the ex officio membership of the council; and to provide
4 for related matters.
5Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1.  R.S. 24:202(A)(24), (25), and (26) are hereby enacted to read as follows: 
7 §202.  Council; membership; terms; vacancies
8	A.  The governing body of the Louisiana State Law Institute shall be a
9 council composed of ex officio members and elected members.  The ex officio
10 members shall be:

12	(24)  The executive director of the Louisiana District Attorneys Association.
13	(25)  The president of the Louisiana District Attorneys Association.
14	(26)  Two district attorneys appointed by the president of the Louisiana
15 District Attorneys Association.

Abstract:  Adds four additional ex officio members to the council of the La. State Law
Institute.
Present law provides for the La. State Law Institute as an official advisory law revision
commission, law reform agency, and legal research agency of the state of La.  Provides that
the governing body of the La. State Law Institute is a council composed of elected members
and members who hold certain offices and who are appointed by certain persons.  Proposed
law retains present law.
Proposed law adds the executive director of the Louisiana District Attorneys Association
(LDAA), the president of the LDAA, and two district attorneys appointed by the president
of the LDAA as ex officio members.
