Existing law provides for the La. State Law Institute as an official advisory law revision
commission, law reform agency, and legal research agency of the state of La. Provides that
the governing body of the La. State Law Institute is a council composed of elected members,
members who hold certain offices, and members who are appointed by certain persons.
New law adds the executive director of the La. District Attorneys Assoc. (LDAA) and the
president of the LDAA or a district attorney designated by the president as members of the
council of the La. State Law Institute.
Effective August 1, 2016.
