Abstract: Requires all bidders bidding on public works for Jefferson Parish to submit all bid forms
required by statute or by the Louisiana Administrative Code to the governing authority of
Jefferson Parish prior to the opening of all bids relative to a contract for public works.
Present law provides that all public work exceeding the contract limit as defined in present law,
including labor and materials, to be done by a public entity shall be advertised and let by contract
to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder who had bid according to the bidding documents as
advertised.
Proposed law retains present law.
Present law requires any public entity advertising for public work to use only the Louisiana Uniform
Bid Form.  The bidding documents can only require certain information and documentation to be
submitted by a bidder at the time designated in the advertisement for bid opening and other
information or documents are required to be submitted by the apparent low bidder no sooner than
10 days after the date the bids are opened.
Present law provides exceptions to present law for certain entities.
Proposed law retains present law.
