Existing law requires home service contract providers to register with the secy. of state.
Prior law required a fee not to exceed $600 to accompany an application of registration.
New law fixes the registration fee at $600.
Prior  law provided that registrations are effective for 2 years unless the registration is
denied, renewed, suspended, or revoked.  New law modifies existing law by removing the
renewed and suspended registration statuses.
Existing law requires home service contract providers to obtain and file with the secy. of
state a $50,000 surety bond issued by a company licensed to do business in the state of La. 
New law retains existing law and further requires the term of the surety bond to coincide with
the 2-year period of effective registration as provided in existing law.
New law makes technical changes. 
Effective upon signature of governor (May 26, 2016).
