Abstract: Creates the "Krewe of NYX" special prestige license plate. Provides for fees,
distributions of fees, issuance, creation, and design of the license plate and promulgation of
rules.
Proposed law requires the secretary of the Dept. of Public Safety and Corrections to issue special
prestige license plates to be known as the "Krewe of NYX" license plate.
Proposed law requires that the license plate be issued, upon application, to any citizen of Louisiana
in the same manner as any other motor vehicle license plate.
Proposed law provides for the secretary to work in conjunction with the captain of the Krewe of
NYX to select the color and design of the plate.
Proposed law requires the department to collect an annual royalty fee of $25 for each plate issued
and specifies that such fees be collected by the department and forwarded to the Krewe of NYX.
Specifies that the monies received from the royalty fees shall be used solely to support the activities
of the Krewe of NYX. Further provides for the standard license plate registration fee and
administrative fee.
Proposed law requires the secretary to adopt rules and regulations to implement the provisions
provided in proposed law.
