HOLIDAYS:  Establishes a legal holiday in Grant Parish
1	AN ACT
2To enact R.S. 1:55(E)(1)(h), relative to legal holidays; to establish the Friday of the Pecan
3 Festival as a legal holiday in the parish of Grant; to authorize the clerk of court of the
4 Thirty-Fifth Judicial District Court to close the clerk's office in observance of the
5 legal holiday; to provide for an exception; and to provide for related matters.
6Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1.  R.S. 1:55(E)(1)(h) is hereby enacted to read as follows: 
8 ยง55.  Days of public rest, legal holidays, and half-holidays

10	E.(1)
11	*          *          *
12	(h)  In addition, in the parish of Grant, the Friday of the Pecan Festival shall
13 be a legal holiday for the purpose of authorizing the clerk of court of the Thirty-Fifth
14 Judicial District Court in the parish of Grant to close offices in observance of that
15 day, unless there is an election that requires the office to remain open.

Proposed law establishes the Friday of the Pecan Festival as a legal holiday in the parish of
Grant for purposes of authorizing the clerk of court for the 35th JDC to close offices in
observance of the holiday.  Provides an exception for purposes of an election.
