1 AN ACT
2 To enact R.S. 33:4305(B)(5), relative to gas utility districts; to provide relative to the
3 members of the governing boards of districts located in certain parishes; to increase
4 the maximum per diem authorized to be paid to such members; and to provide for
5 related matters.
6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1. R.S. 33:4305(B)(5) is hereby enacted to read as follows:

12 (5) Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, no member
13 of the board of commissioners of any gas utility district located in a parish with a
14 population of not less than twenty thousand persons and not more than twenty
15 thousand five hundred persons according to the latest federal decennial census shall
16 receive a salary for the performance of his duties as a member. Each member may
17 receive a per diem for each meeting attended, up to twenty-five meetings per year.
18 The board shall fix the amount of the per diem in an amount not to exceed one
19 hundred twenty dollars. A member may be reimbursed for all proper expenses

1 incurred in carrying on the business of the district. The board may fix reasonable
2 additional compensation, commensurate with the additional duties performed, for a
3 member who serves as secretary or treasurer or secretary-treasurer of the board.
