Present law requires each applicant applying for a license to operate an unmanned aerial system in the course of an agricultural commercial operation to complete an agricultural education and safety training course administered by the Louisiana cooperative extension service. Proposed law adds Southern University Agricultural Research and Extension Center as an entity that may administer the agricultural education and safety training course. Proposed law authorizes the commissioner to establish, by rule, a registration fee for unmanned aerial systems not to exceed $100. Requires the rule be adopted in accordance with the Administrative Procedure Act (APA). Proposed law authorizes the commissioner to establish a licensing fee not to exceed $50, payable to the La. State University Agricultural Center or the Southern University Agricultural Research and Extension Center for conducting the agricultural education and safety training course required in present law. Requires the rule be adopted in accordance with the APA. The House Floor Amendments to the engrossed bill: 1. Decrease the proposed registration fee from $500 to $100. 2.
