R.S. 56:637(B) and (E) are hereby amended and reenacted to read as 8follows: 9 ยง637. Records 10 * * * 11 B. Any wholesale/retail dealer who purchases reptiles or amphibians shall 15 give one part of a three-part receipt form to the collector at the time of the sale, shall 16 retain one part, and shall submit one part shall be submitted to the secretary of the 17 department complete a commercial receipt form and return all commercial receipt 18 forms to the department in the same manner as provided in R.S. 56:306.5(B) and 19 306.6. [R.S. 1:13(B) and 24:177(E)] HB 423 Original 2016 Regular Session Bishop Abstract: Requires wholesale/retail dealers that purchase reptiles or amphibians to complete a commercial receipt form and submit all commercial receipt forms to the department. Present law requires wholesale/retail seafood dealers purchasing or acquiring seafood complete a commercial receipt form that requires the following information: wholesale/retail seafood dealer's name and license number, commercial fisherman's name, license number and signature, transaction date, species identification, quantity and units of each species, size and condition of each species, unit price of each species, and permit number for species requiring a permit to harvest. Present law requires wholesale/retail seafood dealers return all commercial receipt forms to the Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries on or before the 10 th of each month. Present law authorizes the promulgation of rules prescribing the confidentiality of the data submitted and requires the ability to submit the data electronically. Present law does not require a licensed wholesale/retail seafood dealer to obtain a license required by present law on reptiles and amphibians, but does require their compliance with rules and regulations promulgated pursuant to present law. Proposed law retains present law. Proposed law requires any wholesale/retail dealer who purchases reptiles or amphibians to complete a commercial receipt form and return all commercial receipt forms to the department in the same manner as provided in present law.
