RÉSUMÉ DIGEST ACT 114 (HB 423) 2016 Regular Session Bishop Existing law requires wholesale/retail seafood dealers purchasing or acquiring seafood complete a commercial receipt form that requires the following information: wholesale/retail seafood dealer's name and license number, commercial fisherman's name, license number and signature, transaction date, species identification, quantity and units of each species, size and condition of each species, unit price of each species, and permit number for species requiring a permit to harvest. Existing law requires wholesale/retail seafood dealers return all commercial receipt forms to the Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries on or before the 10th of each month. Existing law authorizes the promulgation of rules prescribing the confidentiality of the data submitted and requires the ability to submit the data electronically. Existing law does not require a licensed wholesale/retail seafood dealer purchasing reptiles or amphibians to obtain a license required by existing law on reptiles and amphibians, but does require their compliance with rules and regulations promulgated pursuant to existing law providing for reptiles and amphibians. New law retains existing law. New law requires any wholesale/retail dealer who purchases reptiles or amphibians to complete a commercial receipt form and return all commercial receipt forms to the department in the same manner as provided in existing law.
