Abstract: Provides for regulation of nonsurgical endoscopy procedures performed at ambulatory
surgical centers.
Present law provides for licensure and regulation of ambulatory surgical centers.  Proposed law
retains present law.
Proposed law provides that notwithstanding any provision of present law to the contrary, no rule,
regulation, or minimum standard promulgated pursuant to present law shall require a staffing pattern
for nonsurgical endoscopy procedures performed at an ambulatory surgical center to exceed the
staffing pattern for such procedures recommended by the American Society for Gastrointestinal
Endoscopy.
