HLS 16RS-35 ORIGINAL 2016 Regular Session HOUSE BILL NO. 442 BY REPRESENTATIVE ROBERT JOHNSON PUBLIC BLDGS/GROUNDS-ST: Authorizes the secretary of the Department of Public Safety and Corrections to rename the correctional facility at Cottonport, Louisiana, the "Raymond LaBorde Correctional Center" 1 AN ACT 2To authorize the secretary of the Department of Public Safety and Corrections to rename the 3 correctional facility located at Cottonport, Louisiana, as the Raymond LaBorde 4 Correctional Center; and to provide for related matters. 5Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana: 6 Section 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of R.S. 42:267 or any other provision of 7law to the contrary, the secretary of the Department of Public Safety and Corrections may 8designate and rename the correctional facility at Cottonport, Louisiana, as the "Raymond 9LaBorde Correctional Center" in honor of former state representative Raymond LaBorde. 10 Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not 11signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature 12by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If 13vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become 14effective on the day following such approval.
