CONTRACTS: Provides for reporting, review, and approval by the Joint Legislative
Committee on the Budget of certain professional, personal, and consulting service
contracts
DIGEST
Present law for FY 2015-2016 through FY 2017-2018, establishes a process that all contracts
for professional, personal, and consulting services totaling $40,000 or more per year which
are funded solely with the state general fund (direct) or the Overcollections Fund and are for
discretionary purposes are reported, reviewed, and approved by the JLCB.
Proposed law adds social services contracts totaling $40,000 per year to the types of contracts
to be reported and reviewed by JLCB.
Proposed law removes requirement that JLCB approve the contracts being reported and
reviewed.
Proposed law further removes provisions regarding the funding sources for contracts to be
reported and reviewed by JLCB.
Effective upon signature of governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
