APPROPRIATIONS/JUDGMENT: Appropriates funds for the payment of judgment in the
matter of "Stephanie Marie Landry and Tommie Varnado, Jr. v. City of New
Orleans, Leonard D'Arensbourg and State of Louisiana, through the DOTD"
1 AN ACT
2To appropriate funds out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2016-
3 2017 to be used to pay the consent judgment in the suit entitled "Stephanie Marie
4 Landry and Tommie Varnado, Jr. v. City of New Orleans, Leonard D'Arensbourg
5 and State of Louisiana, through the Department of Transportation and
6 Development"; and to provide for related matters.
7Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
8 Section 1. The sum of One Hundred Thirty-Five Thousand and No/100
9($135,000.00) Dollars is hereby appropriated out of the General Fund of the state of
10Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2016-2017 to be used to pay the consent judgment in the suit
11entitled "Stephanie Marie Landry and Tommie Varnado, Jr. v. City of New Orleans, Leonard
12D'Arensbourg and State of Louisiana, through the Department of Transportation and
13Development", bearing Number 2004-13154 consolidated with 2005-1274, Division "L",
14Section "6", on the docket of the Civil District Court, parish of Orleans, state of Louisiana.
15 Section 2. This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2016; if vetoed by the governor
16and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on July 1,
172016, or on the day following such approval by the legislature, whichever is later.
