HLS 16RS-1175 ENGROSSED 2016 Regular Session HOUSE BILL NO. 595 BY REPRESENTATIVE ROBERT JOHNSON DIETITIANS: Provides relative to the delivery of nutrition services through telehealth 1 AN ACT 2To amend and reenact R.S. 40:1223.3(3), relative to dietetics and nutrition practice; to 3 authorize the use of telehealth technology to provide nutrition services; and to 4 provide for related matters. 5Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana: 6 Section 1. R.S. 40:1223.3(3) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 7 ยง1223.3. Definitions 8 * * * 9 (3) "Healthcare provider" means a person, partnership, limited liability 10 partnership, limited liability company, corporation, facility, or institution licensed 11 or certified by this state to provide health care or professional services as a physician 12 assistant, hospital, nursing home, dentist, registered nurse, advanced practice 13 registered nurse, licensed dietitian or nutritionist, licensed practical nurse, certified 14 nurse assistant, offshore health service provider, ambulance service, licensed 15 midwife, pharmacist, speech-language pathologist, audiologist, optometrist, 16 podiatrist, chiropractor, physical therapist, occupational therapist, certified or 17 licensed athletic trainer, psychologist, medical psychologist, social worker, licensed 18 professional counselor, licensed perfusionist, licensed respiratory therapist, licensed 19 radiologic technologist, or licensed clinical laboratory scientist. 20 * * * Page 1 of 2 CODING: Words in struck through type are deletions from existing law; words underscored are additions.
