Abstract: Authorizes vehicles issued certain special permits by the Dept. of Transportation and
Development to operate on interstate highways at night under certain circumstances.
Present law provides that vehicles that do not meet the standard measurements for regular operation
of vehicles on highways may be allowed to operate such vehicles on highways if issued a special
permit to do so by the secretary of the Dept. of Transportation and Development.
Proposed law retains present law.
Proposed law authorizes the secretary of the Dept. of Transportation and Development to allow
vehicles issued certain special permits to operate on interstate highways at night if requested by the
owner or operator of the vehicle.
