HB 762 Original	2016 Regular Session	Jackson
Abstract: Requires referrals of pregnant Medicaid enrollees for mental health counseling or
treatment by managed care providers when such patients request these services.
Proposed law provides that its requirements apply in cases when a provider delivers health care
services through a Medicaid managed care organization to a Medicaid enrollee whom he knows to
be pregnant.
Proposed law provides that in any such case, if the pregnant woman requests mental health
counseling or treatment, the provider shall refer the woman for those services as soon as practicable,
and without any unnecessary delay.
