HLS 16RS-1158 ENGROSSED 2016 Regular Session HOUSE BILL NO. 855 BY REPRESENTATIVE HUVAL PARKS/STATE: Authorizes the operation of golf carts on roadways within Lake Fausse Point State Park 1 AN ACT 2To enact R.S. 32:127.3, relative to golf carts; to authorize operation of golf carts on 3 roadways within Lake Fausse Point State Park; and to provide for related matters. 4Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana: 5 Section 1. R.S. 32:127.3 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 6 ยง127.3. Golf carts; Lake Fausse Point State Park 7 A. Notwithstanding any law, rule, or regulation to the contrary, a golf cart 8 may be operated between sunrise and sunset on the roadways within the boundaries 9 of Lake Fausse Point State Park by any operator who is in possession of a valid 10 driver's license and liability insurance. 11 B. For the purposes of this Section, the provisions of R.S. 32:53(D), 261, and 12 Chapter 5 of this Title shall not apply, and golf carts shall not be considered a vehicle 13 for purposes of defining "equipment" as referenced in Part V of Chapter 1 of this 14 Title. Proposed law excepts the provisions of proposed law from certain requirements regarding operation of vehicles on roadways contained in present law.
