HOUSE BILL NO. 881

HIGHER EDUCATION:  Requires each public postsecondary education management board
annually to report to the Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget and publish on
its website specified information relative to research projects and initiatives
1	AN ACT
2To enact R.S. 17:3351(J), relative to the public postsecondary education management
3 boards; to require each public postsecondary education management board annually
4 to report to the Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget and to publish on its
5 website specified information relative to research projects and initiatives; to provide
6 an annual deadline for such reporting and publication; and to provide for related
7 matters.
8Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
9 Section 1.  R.S. 17:3351(J) is hereby enacted to read as follows: 
10 ยง3351.  General powers, duties, and functions of postsecondary education
11	management boards

13	J. In addition to any other powers and duties authorized by this Section, each
14 public postsecondary education management board, not later than February first of
15 each year, shall submit to the Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget and publish
16 on its website information relative to each research project or research initiative
17 conducted at an institution or by any other entity under its jurisdiction. Such
18 information shall include the following:

1	(1) A description of the project or initiative, including its objective and when
2 it or its predecessor was started.
3	(2) The cost of the project or initiative both annually and cumulatively,
4 including means of finance, which shall include whether the source of funding is the
5 State General Fund or other state funding, federal funding, local funding, private
6 funding, or any other type of funding.
7	(3) The progress that has been made toward meeting the objective of the
8 project or initiative.
9	(4) How many people work full-time or part-time on the project or initiative.
10	(5) All contracts let that relate in any way to the project or initiative.

Abstract:  Requires each public postsecondary education management board annually to

Proposed law requires each public postsecondary education management board, not later
than Feb. first of each year, to submit to the Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget and
to publish on its website information relative to each research project or research initiative

information include the following:
