Abstract:  Increases the membership of the Port of South La. Commission from seven  members to
nine members.
Present law provides that the Port of South La. Commission shall be governed by a board of seven
members.
Proposed law increases the membership to nine by adding two additional members appointed by the
governor at his sole discretion.
Proposed law specifies that the two additional members appointed by the governor must be residents
of the parishes of St. Charles, St. John the Baptist, or St. James.
(Amends R.S. 34:2471(A)(intro. para.), (6), (7), and (8); Adds R.S. 34:2471(A)(9))
Summary of Amendments Adopted by House
