HLS 16RS-1183 ORIGINAL 2016 Regular Session HOUSE BILL NO. 894 BY REPRESENTATIVE THIBAUT CORRECTIONS: Provides with respect to reporting for Offender Reentry Support Pilot Program 1 AN ACT 2To amend and reenact R.S. 15:745.2(D), relative to the reentry of offenders who are housed 3 in parish jails; to provide relative to the Offender Reentry Support Pilot Program; to 4 provide for the reporting of program results; and to provide for related matters. 5Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana: 6 Section 1. R.S. 15:745.2(D) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 7 ยง745.2. Offender Reentry Support Pilot Program; establishment; participating 8 correctional institution; content; administration; implementation; reporting 9 * * * 10 D. Within twenty-four months following initial implementation of the 11 "Offender Reentry Support Pilot Program", the sheriff shall submit to the House 12 Committee on Administration of Criminal Justice and the Senate Committee on 13 Judiciary C a comprehensive report regarding the implementation of the pilot 14 program, funding obtained for its implementation, the progress of offenders and 15 ex-offenders under the program, and a recommendation for continuation, expansion, 16 or termination of the program. The sheriff shall provide an additional report to the 17 committees listed in this Subsection prior to the 2018 Regular Session and thereafter 18 as the committees require. Present law provides that within 24 months of implementation of the program, the sheriff shall submit to the House Committee on Administration of Criminal Justice and the Senate Committee on Judiciary C a comprehensive report regarding the implementation of the pilot program, funding obtained for its implementation, the progress of offenders and ex-offenders under the program, and a recommendation for continuation, expansion, or termination of the program.
