HB 920 Original	2016 Regular Session	Talbot
Abstract:  Prohibits a member of the La. Board of Pharmacy from qualifying for a license to
produce or dispense therapeutic marijuana.
Present law authorizes the Dept. of Agriculture and Forestry to issue a single license for the
production of therapeutic marijuana.  Present law further authorizes the La. Board of Pharmacy to
issue a license for a dispensing pharmacy limited to no more than 10 licensees.
Proposed law prohibits a member of the La. Board of Pharmacy from qualifying for a license to
produce or dispense therapeutic marijuana.
Present law requires the  La. Pharmacy Board and the Dept. of Agriculture and Forestry to submit
a report to the legislature no later than Jan. 1, 2016, with recommendations on possible fee amounts
relative to their respective licensing authority.
Proposed law repeals outdated present law.
Effective upon signature of the governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
