Abstract:  Adds the 4
th
 JDC to the list of judicial districts where the district attorney may combine
or divide assistant district attorney salary warrants.
Present law provides for a fixed total salary amount of $45,000 per assistant district attorney for each
judicial district court throughout the state of Louisiana, including the parish of Orleans.
Present law provides that, notwithstanding the minimum number of assistant district attorneys
permitted under present law in Orleans Parish, the 19
th
 JDC, the 23
rd
 JDC, and the 32
nd
 JDC, the
district attorney for those districts may reallocate by combining or dividing the fixed total amount
of annual salary permitted to be paid to all assistant district attorneys in those jurisdictions in any
lawful manner the district attorney deems appropriate.
Proposed law retains present law and adds the 4
th
 JDC to that list of judicial districts authorized to
reallocate the salary warrants to pay assistant district attorneys.
