HB 94 Original	2016 Regular Session	Montoucet
Abstract: Allows for the use of nonhuman primates as service animals.
Present law requires the Wildlife and Fisheries Commission to promulgate rules regulating the
importation and ownership of nonindigenous constrictors in excess of 12 feet in length, venomous
snakes, and nonhuman primates. Provides for certain exemptions from the rules.
Proposed law requires that the rules allow nonhuman primates that have been trained to perform
tasks to assist people with disabilities to be used as service animals.
