HB 958 Original	2016 Regular Session	Marcelle
Abstract: Changes allocations of the East Baton Rouge Parish Enhancement Fund by deleting the
allocation for urban mass transit and increasing the allocation for the Baton Rouge Sports
Foundation.
Present law deposits a portion of the state sales tax on the rental of hotel rooms in East Baton Rouge
Parish into the East Baton Rouge Parish Enhancement Fund and allocates the money as follows:
(1)$100,000 annually for urban mass transit purposes in East Baton Rouge Parish.
(2)$100,000 annually for the Baton Rouge Sports Foundation, provided such funds do not pay
the salary or related benefits of the foundation's executive director.
(3)The remainder shall be allocated annually for the Riverside Centroplex Arena and Exhibit
Center.
Proposed law removes the allocation to urban mass transit in present law and increases the allocation
to the Baton Rouge Sports Foundation from $100,000 to $200,000.
Effective on July 1, 2016.
