BY REPRESENTATIVES LEBAS AND MONTOUCET
SPECIAL DAY/WEEK/MONTH: Commends the La. Physical Therapy Association and
designates March 14 through March 18, 2016, as Louisiana Physical Therapy
Association Week
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Louisiana Physical Therapy Association for its outstanding achievements
3 and to designate March 14 through March 18, 2016, as Louisiana Physical Therapy
4 Association Week.
5 WHEREAS, the mission of the Louisiana Physical Therapy Association, the
6principal membership organization in Louisiana representing and promoting the profession
7of physical therapy, is to enhance the physical health and functional abilities of members of
8the public and to further the profession's role in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of
9movement dysfunctions and neuromusculoskeletal conditions; and
10 WHEREAS, the vision statement of the Louisiana Physical Therapy Association is
11that the association will advocate that physical therapy become the public's choice for the
12diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of neuromusculoskeletal conditions and movement
13dysfunctions by expanding membership and enhancing participation in legislative
14policymaking to achieve greater influence in health care delivery issues; and
15 WHEREAS, physical therapists and physical therapist assistants consistently aspire
16to wisely apply the principals of altruism, excellence, caring, ethics, respect, communication,
17and accountability, and they work together with other professionals to achieve optimal health
18and wellness in individuals and communities; and

1 WHEREAS, the dedication of the men and women of the Louisiana Physical Therapy
2Association has made a significant and positive difference in communities throughout the
3state, and the members of the association merit a special measure of commendation.
4 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
5Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the members of the Louisiana Physical
6Therapy Association for their outstanding achievements; does hereby recognize and record
7for posterity their unwavering commitment to excellence in serving the state's citizens; does
8hereby extend enduring appreciation for the pride and honor they bring to the state of
9Louisiana; and does hereby designate March 14 through March 18, 2016, as Louisiana
10Physical Therapy Association Week.
11 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
12to the president of the Louisiana Physical Therapy Association.
