HLS 16RS-3412 ORIGINAL 2016 Regular Session HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 112 BY REPRESENTATIVE MONTOUCET COMMENDATIONS: Commends Addison Green, Caleb King, and Sybil Lorraine Duncan upon being named Outstanding Young Citizens by the Crowley Chamber of Commerce 1 A RESOLUTION 2To commend Addison Green, Caleb King, and Sybil Lorraine Duncan upon being named 3 Outstanding Young Citizens by the Crowley Chamber of Commerce. 4 WHEREAS, Addison Green is the daughter of Thomas and Katie Green; she is a 5senior at Crowley High School, where she maintains a 4.0 GPA; she was named Student of 6the Month, Hardest Working Student, and Crowley High School Student of the Year for 72016, and she received the Woodman of the World Award and the Daughters of the 8American Revolution Award; and 9 WHEREAS, Addison serves as historian of the student council, secretary of the 10National Honor Society, editor-in-chief of the Topper, and she is currently the senior class 11representative; she is also a proud member of the ACT 23+ Club; and 12 WHEREAS, she was chosen to serve as president of the leadership team for the 13youth group of First United Methodist Church; and 14 WHEREAS, she plans to attend Louisiana State University Eunice to receive an 15associate degree in elementary education and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette to 16receive a bachelors degree; and 17 WHEREAS, Caleb King is the son of Steven and Anne King; he is a senior at 18Northside Christian School, where he maintains a 3.93 GPA; he placed second in the fine 19arts survey and third in geometry at the District Literary Rally; he also received the Coaches 20Award for varsity basketball; and Page 1 of 3 HLS 16RS-3412 ORIGINAL HR NO. 112 1 WHEREAS, Caleb was chosen as Mr. Northside Christian for 2016, and he received 2the National Beta Club leadership scholarship; and 3 WHEREAS, he has played basketball for four years and baseball for three years; and 4 WHEREAS, he has served as vice president for Beta Club, senior class 5representative, and he was a member of the school chapel worship team; and 6 WHEREAS, Caleb plans to attend a discipleship school for five months before 7attending the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2017 to pursue a career in physical 8therapy; and 9 WHEREAS, Sybil Lorraine Duncan is the daughter of Shea and Kathy Duncan; she 10is a senior at Notre Dame High School, where she maintains a 3.86 GPA; and 11 WHEREAS, she has been named to the Principal's List and the Honor Roll, and she 12received academic all state honors in track and field and the Ochsner of New Orleans STAR 13Award for all A's; and 14 WHEREAS, she has been a member of the pep squad, the basketball team, the soccer 15team, the cross country team, and the track and field team; and 16 WHEREAS, she is an active member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, where she 17serves as a Eucharistic minister; in March, she traveled to the Dominican Republic for a 18mission trip; and 19 WHEREAS, Sybil plans to attend Louisiana State University to major in biology; she 20hopes to attend medical school and become a doctor; and 21 WHEREAS, Addison Green, Caleb King, and Sybil Lorraine Duncan are exemplary 22young citizens, and it is appropriate to commend them on their prestigious accomplishments 23as the Crowley Chamber of Commerce celebrates them as Outstanding Young Citizens. 24 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the 25Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Addison Green, Caleb King, and Sybil 26Lorraine Duncan upon being named Outstanding Young Citizens by the Crowley Chamber 27of Commerce and does hereby extend to them enduring appreciation for the tremendous 28pride and honor that they bring to their family and friends, their schools and communities, 29and the state of Louisiana.
