HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 123

A RESOLUTION
To commend the employees of the Louisiana House of Representatives for their public
service and to recognize Wednesday, May 4, 2016, as State Employee Recognition
Day at the state capitol.
WHEREAS, the employees of the Louisiana House of Representatives are dedicated
to providing the House and its members with the highest quality legislative support services
in a professional, nonpartisan manner, and to assisting the legislature so that it functions as
a coequal branch of government; and
WHEREAS, the employees of the House of Representatives perform their duties with
dedication and genuine care; and
WHEREAS, the employees of the House of Representatives serve individual
legislators through comprehensive research, bill drafting, fiscal analysis, and also provide
administrative, constituent, and security support, and in so doing help to ensure the smooth
functioning of the legislative process; and
WHEREAS, the House of Representatives is indebted to the men and women of the
House staff who devote themselves to public service and who serve the public with the
highest degree of professionalism, proficiency, and integrity; and
WHEREAS, Public Service Recognition Week is sponsored by the Public Employees
Roundtable and its member organizations to honor the men and women who serve our nation
as federal, state, county, and local government employees, and has been celebrated during
the first week of May since 1985; and
WHEREAS, Wednesday, May 4, 2016, has been designated as State Employee
Recognition Day.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the employees of the House of
Representatives for their outstanding public service benefitting both the House of
Representatives and the citizens of Louisiana, and hereby recognizes Wednesday, May 4,
2016, as State Employee Recognition Day at the state capitol.
