COMMENDATIONS: Commends Janice Williams upon her induction into the Louisiana
State University College of Engineering Hall of Distinction
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend Janice Williams upon her induction into the Louisiana State University
3 College of Engineering Hall of Distinction.
4 WHEREAS, the Louisiana State University (LSU) College of Engineering Hall of
5Distinction was established to recognize individuals who have made significant
6achievements in the engineering profession through distinguished professional achievement,
7dedicated service to engineering, and outstanding humanitarian activities; and
8 WHEREAS, Janice Williams is a graduate of LSU's College of Engineering, and she
9is employed with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD);
10and
11 WHEREAS, for more than thirty years, Ms. Williams has been an engineer for
12DOTD; and
13 WHEREAS, her work at DOTD has brought her many accolades including being a
14recipient of the Charles E. Dunbar, Jr., Award, the highest honor bestowed on a civil servant;
15and
16 WHEREAS, in 2014, Ms. Williams was promoted to chief engineer of the Louisiana
17Department of Transportation and Development, the highest ranking engineer in state
18government; and
19 WHEREAS, Ms. Williams displays a sincere dedication to the state of Louisiana, and
20her achievements and commitment to public service has merited her induction into the LSU
21College of Engineering Hall of Distinction.

1 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
2Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Janice Williams upon her induction into the
3LSU College of Engineering Hall of Distinction; does hereby recognize and record for
4posterity her remarkable career of public service; and does hereby wish her full measures
5of success and happiness in all of her future endeavors.
6 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
7to Janice Williams.
