COMMENDATIONS: Commends Sybil Lorraine Duncan upon being named an
Outstanding Young Citizen by the Crowley Chamber of Commerce
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To commend Sybil Lorraine Duncan upon being named an Outstanding Young Citizen by
3 the Crowley Chamber of Commerce.
4 WHEREAS, Sybil Lorraine Duncan is the daughter of Shea and Kathy Duncan; she
5 is a senior at Notre Dame High School, where she maintains a 3.86 GPA; and
6 WHEREAS, she has been named to the Principal's List and the Honor Roll, and she
7 received academic all state honors in track and field and the Ochsner of New Orleans STAR
8 Award for all As; and
9 WHEREAS, she has been a member of the pep squad, the basketball team, the soccer
10 team, the cross country team, and the track and field team; and
11 WHEREAS, she is an active member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, where she
12 serves as a Eucharistic minister; in March, she traveled to the Dominican Republic for a
13 mission trip; and
14 WHEREAS, Sybil plans to attend Louisiana State University to major in biology; she
15 hopes to attend medical school and become a doctor; and
16 WHEREAS, Sybil Lorraine Duncan is an exemplary young citizen, and it is
17 appropriate to commend her on her prestigious accomplishments as the Crowley Chamber
18 of Commerce celebrates her as an Outstanding Young Citizen.
19 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
20 Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Sybil Lorraine Duncan upon being named
21 an Outstanding Young Citizen by the Crowley Chamber of Commerce and does hereby

1 extend to her enduring appreciation for the tremendous pride and honor that she brings to
2 her family and friends, school and community, and the state of Louisiana.
3 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
4 to Sybil Lorraine Duncan.
