SPECIAL DAY/WEEK/MONTH:  Recognizes Monday, April 4, 2016, as National
Federation of Independent Business/Louisiana Small Business Day at the capitol
1	A RESOLUTION
2To recognize Monday, April 4, 2016, as National Federation of Independent
3 Business/Louisiana Small Business Day at the Louisiana state capitol.
4 WHEREAS, both governmental and private entities alike herald small businesses as
5the backbone of the American economy; and
6 WHEREAS, founded in 1943 and headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, the
7National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) is a small business advocacy
8association that represents small and independent businesses before government
9policymakers in all fifty states and provides services to its member organizations; and
10 WHEREAS, 350,000 small and independent business owners enjoy the camaraderie
11and benefits of the NFIB through use of the federation's many products and services; and
12 WHEREAS, the NFIB counts over 4,000 small business owners as members in the
13state of Louisiana, members that represent every sector of the economy and employ over
14175,000 people; and
15 WHEREAS, the Young Entrepreneur Foundation, the Research Foundation, and the
16Small Business Legal Center are auxiliaries of the NFIB that serve young men and women
17in their business startups, conduct polls that provide strategic information to NFIB members,
18and offer legal services; and
19 WHEREAS, NFIB/Small Business Day at the capitol is Monday, April 4, 2016, and
20it is appropriate to recognize the contributions of small businesses in Louisiana to the
21thriving economy of the state.

1 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
2Legislature of Louisiana does hereby recognize Monday, April 4, 2016, as National
3Federation of Independent Business/Louisiana Small Business Day at the Louisiana state
4capitol and does hereby commend small business owners and operators throughout the state.
