Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (LACCE) Day at the state capitol 1 A RESOLUTION 2To recognize Tuesday, April 5, 2016, as LACCE Day at the state capitol. 3 WHEREAS, Louisiana's private sector employs more than one million six hundred 4thousand people with annual wages near seventy-five billion dollars; and 5 WHEREAS, the state economy is increasingly diversified with strong representation 6in the manufacturing, healthcare, construction, hospitality, oil and gas, educational services, 7finance, maritime, and transportation sectors; and 8 WHEREAS, thousands of companies and entrepreneurs in Louisiana participate in 9local chambers of commerce with a mission to promote jobs, economic growth, and strong 10communities in every region of the state; and 11 WHEREAS, chambers of commerce across Louisiana are dedicated to protecting and 12promoting the local and state economy which is currently entering a recession, according to 13legislative economists, with thousands of jobs lost in recent months; and 14 WHEREAS, Louisiana chambers of commerce are taking an active role in the 15legislative process in Baton Rouge to amplify the voice of employers and to encourage state 16leaders to take actions that will support and strengthen the economy of the state; and 17 WHEREAS, more than fifty chambers of commerce have joined together as the 18Louisiana Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (LACCE) to support and 19develop chamber leaders with information, professional development, and best practices in 20order to better serve their communities.
