BY REPRESENTATIVES MIKE JOHNSON, BAGLEY, CARMODY, GLOVER,
HORTON, JENKINS, JIM MORRIS, NORTON, AND SEABAUGH
A RESOLUTION
To express the condolences of the House of Representatives upon the death of Dallas W.
Greene, former fire chief for the Shreveport Fire Department.
WHEREAS, it was with deep regret and profound sorrow that the members of the
Louisiana House of Representatives learned of the death of Dallas W. Greene, former fire
chief for the Shreveport Fire Department, on Monday, January 11, 2016, at the age of ninety-
two; and
WHEREAS, Dallas W. Greene joined the Shreveport Fire Department on April 15,
1942; for twenty-four years, Mr. Greene served with great passion as the fire chief for the
Shreveport Fire Department, and he ultimately retired in 1989 after forty-seven years of
dedicated service; and
WHEREAS, Dallas W. Greene was valued as a member of the Shreveport Fire
Department and was a constant thread of stability and a highly respected leader who helped
build and renovate at least fifteen fire stations and facilities during his time as fire chief; and
WHEREAS, in his forty-seven years of service as a firefighter, Dallas W. Greene
faithfully served the citizens of Shreveport, and all members of the Shreveport Fire
Department will continue to benefit from this extraordinary man's leadership; and
WHEREAS, although the death of Dallas W. Greene has left a tremendous void in
his community and his family, his memory shall live forever in the minds and hearts of all
who knew and loved him.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the
death of Dallas W. Greene, former fire chief for the Shreveport Fire Department; does

hereby record for posterity his outstanding accomplishments and contributions; and does
hereby extend enduring appreciation for the tremendous pride and honor that this wonderful
man will forever bring to his family, friends, and community, the city of Shreveport, and the
state of Louisiana.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to the family of Dallas W. Greene.
