COMMENDATIONS: Commends Sully Laiche, Al'Dontre Davis, Ben St. Pierre, and
Jontre Kirklin for their performance and selection to the Louisiana Sports Writers
Association's Class 3A all-state football team
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend Sully Laiche, Al'Dontre Davis, Ben St. Pierre, and Jontre Kirklin for their
3 outstanding performance and their selection to the Louisiana Sports Writers
4 Association's Class 3A all-state football team and to recognize their
5 accomplishments as extraordinary student athletes.
6 WHEREAS, the Louisiana Sports Writers Association's Class 3A all-state football
7team features some of Louisiana's top young football players, including Sully Laiche,
8Al'Dontre Davis, Ben St. Pierre, and Jontre Kirklin; and
9 WHEREAS, Sully Laiche, a senior defensive lineman for Lutcher High School's
10football team, has been named Defensive MVP; and
11 WHEREAS, Sully is a three-time district Defensive MVP and a three-time all-state
12player; his remarkable accomplishments on the football field include 108 tackles with 73
13solo tackles, 31 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, four forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery in the
14regular season; and
15 WHEREAS, Sully has also been a Class 4A all-state selection for the last two years,
16and he holds Lutcher High School's record for most individual sacks; and
17 WHEREAS, Al'Dontre Davis, a junior at Lutcher High School, was selected as a
18receiver for the all-state football team; he had 60 catches, 880 yards, and 14 touchdowns;

1 WHEREAS, Ben St. Pierre, a senior at Lutcher High School, was selected as a
2linebacker for the all-state football team; he had 122 tackles, 60 solo, 10 tackles for loss, four
3interceptions, two sacks, and two fumble recoveries; and
4 WHEREAS, Jontre Kirklin, a junior at Lutcher High School, was MVP of the 2015
5Class 3A state championship and was named to the all-state football team as a quarterback;
6he threw for 2,257 yards, 35 touchdowns, and rushed for 1,081 yards and 17 scores; and
7 WHEREAS, Sully Laiche, Al'Dontre Davis, Ben St. Pierre, and Jontre Kirklin merit
8a sincere measure of commendation for their outstanding achievements and singular
9contributions as players selected to the Louisiana Sports Writers Association's Class 3A all-
10state football team, and each of these young men exemplify the potential and achievements
11of Louisiana's young people.
12 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
13Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Sully Laiche, Al'Dontre Davis, Ben
14St. Pierre, and Jontre Kirklin for their outstanding performance and their selection to the
15Louisiana Sports Writers Association's Class 3A all-state football team; does hereby
16recognize their myriad accomplishments as student athletes at Lutcher High School; and
17does hereby wish them full measures of success and happiness in all of their future
18endeavors.
19 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
20to Sully Laiche, Al'Dontre Davis, Ben St. Pierre, and Jontre Kirklin.
