HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 51

A RESOLUTION
To commend Sully Laiche, Al'Dontre Davis, Ben St. Pierre, and Jontre Kirklin for their
outstanding performance and their selection to the Louisiana Sports Writers
Association's Class 3A all-state football team and to recognize their
accomplishments as extraordinary student athletes.
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Sports Writers Association's Class 3A all-state football
team features some of Louisiana's top young football players, including Sully Laiche,
Al'Dontre Davis, Ben St. Pierre, and Jontre Kirklin; and
WHEREAS, Sully Laiche, a senior defensive lineman for Lutcher High School's
football team, has been named Defensive MVP; and
WHEREAS, Sully is a three-time district Defensive MVP and a three-time all-state
player; his remarkable accomplishments on the football field include 108 tackles with 73
solo tackles, 31 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, four forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery in the
regular season; and
WHEREAS, Sully has also been a Class 4A all-state selection for the last two years,
and he holds Lutcher High School's record for most individual sacks; and
WHEREAS, Al'Dontre Davis, a junior at Lutcher High School, was selected as a
receiver for the all-state football team; he had 60 catches, 880 yards, and 14 touchdowns;
and
WHEREAS, Ben St. Pierre, a senior at Lutcher High School, was selected as a
linebacker for the all-state football team; he had 122 tackles, 60 solo, 10 tackles for loss, four
interceptions, two sacks, and two fumble recoveries; and

WHEREAS, Jontre Kirklin, a junior at Lutcher High School, was MVP of the 2015
Class 3A state championship and was named to the all-state football team as a quarterback;
he threw for 2,257 yards, 35 touchdowns, and rushed for 1,081 yards and 17 scores; and
WHEREAS, Sully Laiche, Al'Dontre Davis, Ben St. Pierre, and Jontre Kirklin merit
a sincere measure of commendation for their outstanding achievements and singular
contributions as players selected to the Louisiana Sports Writers Association's Class 3A all-
state football team, and each of these young men exemplify the potential and achievements
of Louisiana's young people.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Sully Laiche, Al'Dontre Davis, Ben
St. Pierre, and Jontre Kirklin for their outstanding performance and their selection to the
Louisiana Sports Writers Association's Class 3A all-state football team; does hereby
recognize their myriad accomplishments as student athletes at Lutcher High School; and
does hereby wish them full measures of success and happiness in all of their future
endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Sully Laiche, Al'Dontre Davis, Ben St. Pierre, and Jontre Kirklin.
