COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Buras Volunteer Fire Department, its 2016 Oilfield
Crawfish Boil-Off, and 2016 Oilfield Crawfish Queen Charlie Soileau
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Buras Volunteer Fire Department, its 2016 Oilfield Crawfish Boil-Off, and
3 2016 Oilfield Crawfish Queen Charlie Soileau.
4 WHEREAS, the Oilfield Crawfish Boil-Off is a charitable event sponsored by the
5Buras Volunteer Fire Department; and
6 WHEREAS, the purpose of the Oilfield Crawfish Boil-Off is to raise funds for the
7Buras Volunteer Fire Department, which are used for improvement projects within the fire
8department and other community activities, such as purchasing small equipment items, in-
9house training, fire prevention at local schools, summer camps, vacation bible school, the
10Fourth of July fireworks display, National Night Out against Crime, the local high school
11homecoming parade, the Halloween Trick or Treat Extravaganza, the lighting of the
12community Christmas tree, the community Christmas parade, and the Christmas angel
13display and to maintain the American Flag on Cazezu Drive; and
14 WHEREAS, the Oilfield Crawfish Boil-Off provides entertainment and competition
15for those in the community of Buras; and
16 WHEREAS, Charlie Soileau, a young woman of many gifts and talents, reigns as the
17Buras Volunteer Fire Department 2016 Oilfield Crawfish Queen; and
18 WHEREAS, the Buras Volunteer Fire Department merits a sincere and heartfelt
19measure of commendation for the tremendous pride and honor that the Oilfield Crawfish
20Boil-Off brings to the city of Buras and the state of Louisiana.

1 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
2Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Buras Volunteer Fire Department, its
32016 Oilfield Crawfish Boil-Off, and 2016 Oilfield Crawfish Queen Charlie Soileau; and
4does hereby recognize the Oilfield Crawfish Boil-Off as an extraordinary event that serves
5as an integral community celebration.
6 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
7to the Buras Volunteer Fire Department.
