ENROLLED 2016 Regular Session HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 82 BY REPRESENTATIVE JEFFERSON A RESOLUTION To commend the Arcadia High School girls' basketball team upon winning the 2016 Class 1A state championship. WHEREAS, the Arcadia High School girls' basketball team completed a sensational season, earning the title of 2016 Class 1A state champions after defeating Merryville High School by a score of 66-62 at the Louisiana High School Athletic Association Allstate Sugar Bowl Girls' Top 28 Tournament; and WHEREAS, the Lady Hornets were led by Khelsea Foster, who scored eleven points over a three and a half minute stretch and was named the most outstanding player of the game; and WHEREAS, the 2015-2016 Arcadia High School girls' basketball team consists of Te`Arra Hull, Tamera Mackey, Carmen Cade, Aryel Foster, Madison Haulcy, Khelsea Foster, Letricia Baker, Jasmine Moore, Shacorey Rochelle, Zynashaia Fielding, DeAndre`a Alexander, Shandreal Richardson, Bryanica Houston, and Deaquanita Dill; and WHEREAS, the amazing accomplishments of the team could not have been achieved without the guidance and skills of head coach Ruby Smith Qualls and assistant coaches DeAndre Alexander and Chelsea Rogers, as well as all of the other individuals who have contributed to the success of the school's basketball program; and WHEREAS, the team's outstanding 2015-2016 season upholds the glorious tradition of the Hornets, and all Arcadia High School alumni and fans recognize the immense pride and distinguished honor that the team brings to its school, community, and state. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Arcadia High School girls' basketball team upon winning the 2016 Class 1A state championship and does hereby extend best Page 1 of 2 HR NO. 82 ENROLLED wishes to the players, coaches, and everyone involved with this fine basketball program as they celebrate their exceptional season and prepare for continued success in the future.
