CONDOLENCES:  Expresses condolences on the death of Debra Jean Robinson
1	A RESOLUTION
2To express the condolences of the House of Representatives upon the death of Debra Jean
3 Robinson.
4 WHEREAS, it was with deep regret and profound sorrow that the members of the
5Louisiana House of Representatives learned of the death of Debra Jean Robinson.
6 WHEREAS, Ms. Robinson was born on October 6, 1956, in Monroe, to Lovie D.
7Robinson and Morgan Robinson; and
8 WHEREAS, in 1975, she graduated from Austin Senior High School in Chicago,
9Illinois; and
10 WHEREAS, Ms. Robinson accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at New
11Morning Star Baptist Church; in 2010, she became a member of New Philadelphia Baptist
12Church, where she remained a faithful and dedicated member until her death; and
13 WHEREAS, she was employed by the Morehouse Parish School Board and by the
14Morehouse Parish Council on Aging, Incorporated; and
15 WHEREAS, she was preceded in death by her mother; her grandparents; and her
16brother, Edgar Charles Jimerson; and
17 WHEREAS, left to cherish her memory are her father, Morgan Robinson; her lovely
18daughters, Nicole Ivy and Ashley Robinson; her grandchildren, Jasmine Ivy and Turon Ivy,
19Jr.; her sisters, Evelyn Robinson and Sharon R. Jimerson Davis; her uncles, James Jimerson
20and Edward Swygert; her aunts, Clara Bell Miller and Catherine Rogers; her great-uncle,
21Grady Murphy; her great-aunt, Valena Ray; her nieces and nephews, Edgar Rachaud

1Jimerson, Malik Davis, and Ashani Davis; her godchildren, Nitisha Jones, Brian Jones, and
2Charles Walker; and a host of extended family members and friends; and
3 WHEREAS, the death of Debra Jean Robinson has left a tremendous void in her
4community and has created a genuine sense of sorrow in the many citizens whose lives she
5touched.
6 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
7Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the
8death of Debra Jean Robinson and does hereby extend enduring gratitude for the tremendous
9pride and honor that she will forever bring to her family, friends, and community and to the
10state of Louisiana.
11 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
12to the family of Debra Jean Robinson.
