ENROLLED 2016 Regular Session HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 93 BY REPRESENTATIVE JACKSON A RESOLUTION To express the condolences of the House of Representatives upon the death of Debra Jean Robinson. WHEREAS, it was with deep regret and profound sorrow that the members of the Louisiana House of Representatives learned of the death of Debra Jean Robinson. WHEREAS, Ms. Robinson was born on October 6, 1956, in Monroe, to Lovie D. Robinson and Morgan Robinson; and WHEREAS, in 1975, she graduated from Austin Senior High School in Chicago, Illinois; and WHEREAS, Ms. Robinson accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at New Morning Star Baptist Church; in 2010, she became a member of New Philadelphia Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful and dedicated member until her death; and WHEREAS, she was employed by the Morehouse Parish School Board and by the Morehouse Parish Council on Aging, Incorporated; and WHEREAS, she was preceded in death by her mother; her grandparents; and her brother, Edgar Charles Jimerson; and WHEREAS, left to cherish her memory are her father, Morgan Robinson; her lovely daughters, Nicole Ivy and Ashley Robinson; her grandchildren, Jasmine Ivy and Turon Ivy, Jr.; her sisters, Evelyn Robinson and Sharon R. Jimerson Davis; her uncles, James Jimerson and Edward Swygert; her aunts, Clara Bell Miller and Catherine Rogers; her great-uncle, Grady Murphy; her great-aunt, Valena Ray; her nieces and nephews, Edgar Rachaud Jimerson, Malik Davis, and Ashani Davis; her godchildren, Nitisha Jones, Brian Jones, and Charles Walker; and a host of extended family members and friends; and Page 1 of 2 HR NO. 93 ENROLLED WHEREAS, the death of Debra Jean Robinson has left a tremendous void in her community and has created a genuine sense of sorrow in the many citizens whose lives she touched. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the death of Debra Jean Robinson and does hereby extend enduring gratitude for the tremendous pride and honor that she will forever bring to her family, friends, and community and to the state of Louisiana.
