KEYWORD.  SPECIAL DISTRICTS. Creates the Parkwood Terrace Crime Prevention and
Neighborhood Improvement District in East Baton Rouge Parish. (gov sig)
Report adopts House amendments to:
1. Retains one member appointed by the member of House District 63 to the board of
commissioners.
Report rejects House amendments which would have:
1. Changed the House District from which an appointment is made from District 29 to
District 63.
Report amends the bill to:
Digest of the bill as proposed by the Conference Committee
Proposed law provides that the district is governed by a board of commissioners. Requires each
board member to be a resident and qualified voter in the district. Provides that the board shall be
composed of seven members as follows:
(1)The president of the Parkwood Terrace Improvement Association shall be an ex officio
member.
(2)The board of directors of the Parkwood Terrace Improvement Association or its successor
shall appoint one member.
(3)The member of the Louisiana House of Representatives who represents House District 63
shall appoint one member.
(4)The member of the Louisiana Senate who represents Senate District 15 shall appoint one
member. (5)The assessor for East Baton Rouge Parish shall appoint one member.
(6)The mayor-president of East Baton Rouge shall appoint one member.
(7)The Metro Council member or council members who represent the district shall appoint one
member.
