2016 Regular Session ENROLLED SENATE BILL NO. 161 BY SENATOR CHABERT 1 AN ACT 2 To amend and reenact R.S. 56:306.1(B)(6), relative to retail seafood dealer's licenses; to 3 provide for exceptions for restaurants and retail grocers from the retail seafood 4 dealer's license requirements; and to provide for related matters. 5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana: 6 Section 1. R.S. 56:306.1(B)(6) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 7 ยง306.1. Retail seafood dealer's license; place of business; employees; retail 8 out-of-state crab shipping license 9 * * * 10 B. 11 * * * 12 (6) Restaurants and retail grocers who only purchase fish, whether fresh, 13 frozen, processed, or unprocessed, from a licensed wholesale/retail seafood dealer 14 and only sell such fish fully prepared by cooking for immediate consumption by the 15 consumer need not be licensed in compliance with the provisions of this Section. 16 Any restaurant or retail grocer who sells fish as described in R.S. 56:306 or 306.1 17 shall be licensed in accordance with the applicable law.
