Present law provides that the only exception to dispensing restrictions imposed by present law is if
the prescription monitoring information from the state of the prescriber may be viewed by the
dispensing pharmacist. Proposed law provides that an additional exception will be if the prescriber
includes on the prescription that it is for a patient with a diagnosis of cancer or terminal illness.
Effective upon signature of the governor or upon lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
