Prior law provided that the only exception to dispensing restrictions imposed by prior law
is if the prescription monitoring information from the state of the prescriber may be viewed
by the dispensing pharmacist. New law provides that an additional exception will be if the
prescriber includes on the prescription that it is for a patient with a diagnosis of cancer or
terminal illness.
Effective upon signature of the governor (May 26, 2016).
