1	AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 15:541.1(A), relative to the posting of the National Human
3 Trafficking Resource Center hotline; to require hotels to post information regarding
4 the hotline; to provide for the location of the posting; to provide for definitions; and
5 to provide for related matters.
6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1.  R.S. 15:541.1(A) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 
8 ยง541.1. Posting of the National Human Trafficking Resource Center hotline;
9	content; languages; notice; civil penalty
10	A. All of the following establishments shall be required to post information
11 regarding the National Human Trafficking Resource Center hotline:
12	(1) Every massage parlor, spa, or hotel that has been found to be a public
13 nuisance for prostitution as set forth in R.S. 13:4711.
14	(2) Every strip club or other sexually-oriented business as set forth in R.S.
15 37:3558(C).
16	(3) Every full service full-service fuel facility adjacent to an interstate
17 highway or highway rest stop.
18	(4) Every outpatient abortion facility as defined by R.S. 40:2175.3.
19	(5)(a) Every hotel as defined in this Paragraph. Each hotel shall post the
20 information in the same location where other employee notices required by state
21 or federal law are posted.
22	(b) For purposes of this Paragraph, "hotel" shall mean and include any
23 establishment, both public and private, engaged in the business of furnishing or
24 providing rooms and overnight camping facilities intended or designed for

1 dwelling, lodging, or sleeping purposes to transient guests and does not
2 encompass any hospital, convalescent or nursing home or sanitarium, or any
3 hotel-like facility operated by or in connection with a hospital or medical clinic
4 providing rooms exclusively for patients and their families.
5	(c) For purposes of this Paragraph, "hotel" shall not include bed and
6 breakfasts or camp and retreat facilities owned and operated by nonprofit
7 organizations exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(a) of the
8 Internal Revenue Code as an organization described in Section 501(c)(3) of the
9 Internal Revenue Code provided that the net revenue derived from the
10 organization's property is devoted wholly to the nonprofit organization's
11 purposes.
12	(d) For purposes of this Paragraph, "bed and breakfast" shall mean a
13 lodging facility having no more than ten guest rooms where transient guests are
14 fed and lodged for pay.
