RÉSUMÉ DIGEST ACT 487 (SB 390) 2016 Regular Session Long Prior law provided for the creation and membership of the Saline Lake Game and Fish Preserve Commission (Saline) which shall consist of five members: three appointed from the governing authority of Winn Parish and two appointed from the governing authority of Natchitoches Parish. New law increases the number of members from five to seven. New law increases the number of members appointed by the governing authority of Winn Parish from three to four and increases the number of members appointed by the governing authority of Natchitoches Parish from two to three. Prior law provided for the creation and membership of the Northeast Louisiana Game and Fish Preserve Commission (Northeast) consisting of five members. Provided that the governing authority of Natchitoches Parish and the governing authority of Red River Parish each appoint one member to the commission. Provided that these appointed commissioners elect three additional persons who are qualified electors of the parishes and who are owners or operators of commercial fishing camps or commercial establishments located in the Preserve. Provided that if the two appointed members cannot agree, then the secretary of the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is to make the appointment. New law increases Northeast membership from five to seven members and provides for appointments to Northeast as follows: five electors appointed by the governing authority of Natchitoches Parish and two electors appointed by the governing authority of Red River Parish. Requires that commissioners serve a term of four years. Effective August 1, 2016.
