MUSEUMS. Repeals certain laws relative to the Chennault Aviation and Military Museum
of Louisiana in order to transfer the museum from the Department of State to the Ouachita
Parish School Board. (gov sig)
1 AN ACT
2 To repeal Chapter 5-N of Title 25 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, comprised of
3 R.S. 25:380.111 and 380.114 through 380.116, relative to the Chennault Aviation
4 and Military Museum of Louisiana; to repeal certain laws in order to transfer the
5 museum from the Department of State to the Ouachita Parish School Board; and to
6 provide for related matters.
7 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
8 Section 1. Chapter 5-N of Title 25 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950,
9 comprised of R.S. 25:380.111 and 380.114 through 380.116 are hereby repealed.
10 Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not
11 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature
12 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If
13 vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become
14 effective on the day following such approval.

Present law provides that the Chennault Aviation and Military Museum of La. in Monroe
is under the overall jurisdiction of the Dept. of State.
Proposed law repeals provisions of the law relative to the Chennault Aviation and Military
Museum of La. to complete the transfer from the Dept. of State to the Ouachita Parish
School Board pursuant to a Nullification of Cooperative Endeavor Agreement between the
Ouachita Parish School Board and the State of La. and Reversion of Property to the Ouachita
Parish School Board.
Effective upon signature of the governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
