AGRICULTURE/FOREST DEPT.  Repeals the Pest Control Compact. (gov sig)
1	AN ACT
2 To repeal Chapter 20-A of Title 3 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, comprised of
3 R.S. 3:3396.1 through 3396.6, relative to the Pest Control Compact; to repeal the
4 compact and the Pest Control Insurance Fund; and to provide for related matters.
5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1.  Chapter 20-A of Title 3 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950,
7 comprised of R.S. 3:3396.1 through 3396.6, is hereby repealed in its entirety.
8 Section 2.  This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not
9 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature
10 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If
11 vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become
12 effective on the day following such approval.

Present law provides for Louisiana's participation in the interstate Pest Control Compact
which authorizes states to complement each other's activities when faced with conditions of
infestation and reinfestation.
Proposed law repeals present law. 
Present law establishes and provides for the administration of the Pest Control Insurance
Fund for the purpose of financing other than normal pest control operations.
Proposed law repeals present law. 
Present law designates the commissioner of agriculture and forestry or his designee as the
compact administrator for Louisiana and requires copies of bylaws and amendments to be
filed with the La. Dept. of Agriculture and Forestry.
Proposed law repeals present law. 
Effective upon signature of the governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
