SENATE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 120

COMMENDATIONS. Commends the Florien High School Lady Blackcats on winning the
Class B state softball championship.
1 A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
2 To commend and congratulate the Florien High School Lady Blackcats softball team on
3 winning the Class B state softball championship.
4 WHEREAS, the Florien High School Lady Blackcats softball team has displayed the
5 skills, teamwork, and dedication that catapulted them to winning the Class B state
6 championship game; and
7 WHEREAS, they defeated the Holden High School Rockets girls softball team seven
8 to zero in the April 30, 2016, Allstate Sugar Bowl Louisiana High School Athletic
9 Association Pitch 5 state tournament at Frasch Park in Sulphur, Louisiana; and
10 WHEREAS, this victory ended a winning twenty-three to five season under the
11 leadership of coach Richard Partridge and earned the Lady Blackcats their fourth
12 consecutive Class B state championship; and
13 WHEREAS, the dedication to their sport has rightly earned the Florien High School
14 Lady Blackcats their championship title.
15 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
16 commend and congratulate the Florien High School Lady Blackcats on winning the 2016
17 Class B softball state championship.

1 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
2 Coach Richard Partridge.
